I Love To Read Month
February is designated “I Love to Read” month in Manitoba and all across North America. From Manitoba Advanced Education and Literacy: "This internationally-celebrated month is the perfect time to promote early childhood interest in reading and highlight the importance of literacy skills throughout life". To promote this in Pre-Kindergarten, I am asking every child to bring two of their favorite books to class for me to read. Below is a list of dates your child is to bring a book.

Bud, Spud & Steak Night
On Friday, February 17th, 2012, the grade 8s will once again have a “Bud, Spud and Steak” night at the Area Night Club, Canad Inns, 1792 Pembina Hwy. Plan to be there between 5:30 and 9:00 p.m. The cost per ticket is still $15.00!
This is an awesome fundraiser and it will help finance the grade 8 trip to Nova Scotia.
Tickets are now available from the Gr. 8 students or office. If you couldn’t make it to last year’s, make sure to come this year!

Valentines Day Party
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we want to celebrate it! Because February 14th lands on a Tuesday, we would like to have a Valentine’s Day Party on February 13th. That way, we can celebrate it with everyone.
We are asking the kids to bring treats for this party but since there are so many kids we have decided to ask just the Yellow and Purple group to bring certain treats for this event.
